LIVE: Misconduct hearing begins into police officer who drove car at pedestrian

A police officer who drove into a pedestrian is set to face the first day of his misconduct hearing today (Tuesday).

PC Rowan Huskisson was responding to a call from club bouncers in Cambridge city centre in May last year when the incident is alleged to have taken place.

A man being detained by the bouncers managed to wrestle free and started running down.

PC Huskisson chased the man in his marked police car before turning and aiming the car towards the pavement at 3.40am on May 27 last year (2017)

The police car mounted the pavement and hit the man before it stopped.

According to Cambridgeshire Police, PC Huskisson was heard to boast: "That's how you deal with that", after he collided with the man.

PC Huskisson will face a misconduct hearing for claims the matter amounts to gross misconduct.

The hearing will be held from 10am today (Tuesday) in Biggleswade Town Council offices.
