Even more of the A14 is now closed following lorry crash – with delays of two hours

Even more of the A14 is now closed following a lorry crash which took place this morning.

The A14 is now closed from the J31 exit slip road.

Highways England are urging people to find an alternative route where possible.

An alternative is to join the M11 southbound or continue along the A428.

Drivers should expect severe delays when travelling along the A14.

The recovery of the lorry is now complete, and contractors are working hard to replace the damaged barrier.

Highways England are warning motorists to expect two hour delays.

Many disgruntled commuters are tweeting about the delays.

One tweeted: "Traffic chaos on the A14 this morning. Ive turned around and will be working from home today."

Another wrote: "Two hours on the road in a 250 mile journey 20 miles travelled on the A14."
