You can now ‘skydive’ down the tallest structure in the world – in Newmarket

A virtual reality experience will allow you to experience a four-minute parachute jump down the world's tallest structure – while you're in Newmarket.

The simulated jump down the Burj Khalifa, an 829m skyscraper in Dubai, has been organised as part of Newmarket Racecourse's Dubai Future Champions Festival.

'Mission 828, is an attraction that gives users the opportunity to experience a stimulated, four-minute parachute jump down from the tip of the tower to the Dubai Fountain – a water feature set in front of it.

A mission commander reaches out to the users as they first take the elevator ride on VR mode to the 160th level of Burj Khalifa.

They can feel the gravity-defying ride up, and proceed to collect suction gloves to ascend the spire. The next step in the adventure is grabbing the parachute for the free-fall VR ride into the fountains.

Think this sounds like something up your street? Or fancy facing your fear of heights? Here's how you can give it a go!

The racecourse will be running the event from inside the Dubai Marquee while the Dubai Future Champions 2018 is going on.

The Dubai Marquee is located next the parade ring at Newmarkets Rowley Mile Racecourse and will be there for October 12 and 13 and is free for race-goers to experience.
