Heavy rain to slam Cambridgeshire Sunday, says Met Office

Cambridgeshire experienced what is thought to be one of the last warm days of the year today (October 13) while much of the rest of the UK was ravaged by torrential downpours and gale-force winds thanks to Storm Callum.

While we were enjoying unseasonably warm temperatures of 24C, Storm Callum, which was named by Met Eireann and is the third named storm, brought 70 mph winds and flooding to Wales, parts of northwest England and Scotland.

Our clear skies will vanish tomorrow (October 14), however, as the Met Office has forecast heavy rain for much of the day.

The rain is predicted to move in at 8am with the heaviest downpours from 9am through 2pm. Light rain will takeover for the rest of the evening.

The wet weather will stick around on Monday (October 15) morning with the sun returning in the afternoon.

The rest of the week looks to remain dry, if a little overcast.
