Woman warns others after man approaches her while driving

A Cambridgeshire woman is warning others after a man tried to get into her car when she was driving in Ely.

The woman, who wished not to be named, was sitting in her car in Ely High Street earlier this week when a man approached her car.

The woman posted a picture of the man on Facebook to warn others in the area that a man might approach their car and try to break in.

She wanted to make sure other people were aware of the possible threat and encourage them to lock their vehicle doors.

On Monday night the woman wrote on Facebook: "Tonight (November 12) I was sat in my car alone down Ely High Street and a male approached my car knocking on the windows and trying to open the door.

The incident was reported to police at 8.49pm

"At first he was asking if I could help him, then started asking for a lift or money.

"I drove off very quickly and reported it to the police. The male is still approaching people in the centre.

"I don't know if it is the same male but ladies be aware and keep your doors locked!"
