Whether or not you’ve ever gone Down Under (ahem, we mean the country), you’re probably familiar with the landmarks.
And now Downtown Toys, a Melbourne based company which has sold silicon sex toys for over 20 years, has given a nod to all things Australia.
Their new range of sex toys is inspired by an assortment of Australian landmarks like the Opera House.
The Koala Kiss described as ‘the Downunder Version of the bunny vibe’ is an ode to the rabbit and comes in an assortment of colours including lavender, violet, blue and black.
One sex toy has even been named Downunder Bliss. Currently sold out, it’s aimed at women and couples and describes itself as an ‘intimate massager’.
The all-woman team manufacture all their products in Australia and the colours come after the creator JD Ryan was horrified after a sex toy shopping trip with friends in the 1990s.
She recalls seeing products made from ‘hard cheap plastics that smelled bad and the designs were hideous. I wasn’t inspired to put those toxic products anywhere near my body’.
JD Ryan told Adelaide Now that the toys are designed to empower their own sexuality: ‘It’s so important for a woman to feel her own power, to be in control of her sexuality. I’ve seen women who have never had an orgasm.
‘When they experience one, they become more confident, more in touch with their body, it’s transformative.
‘We also see a lot of men who are looking for something to please their wives. Often couples with older kids are looking to reconnect so they come and see us. We are here for everyone.
‘Nobody is excluded. At the end of the day, what we do is about love.’
We say a resounding yes too.
