We all know that Gucci don’t come cheap.
And that rule applies whether it’s a leather handbag you’re after or some kind of bedroom accessory.
Even second hand they still cost an arm and a leg.
Just take this pair of Gucci silver handcuffs, for example.
They’ve casually just been featured on Grailed – an online designer swap shop – for a swift $65,000 (£36.9k).
‘A very rare pair of heavy solid silver handcuffs with keyless push button closure,’ the description reads.
‘Made and displayed in Gucci windows co-incidentally the same day that Patricia Gucci was convicted of murder in 1998 – the “coincidence” was noted by newspapers and fashion magazines around the world.’
For nearly £37,000, you also get the original dustbag and contemporary Gucci box ‘marked for Gucci and with post-1968 marks for Nutini Piero of Florence and designed by Tom Ford’.
‘But who’d be mad enough to spend so much on a pair of cuffs?’ you ask.
Unbelievably, 345 people have said that they want it.
So if they’re starting to tickle your fancy, you better move fast. All you have to do is make the vendor an offer and see if your wildest dreams come true.
Or you could just keep your ear to the auction house ground.
Apparently, there are other sets of similar cuffs doing the rounds, with one being sold at Christie’s back in 2009 for £1,420 – which is a bargain in comparison.
Ah, the price you pay for designer kink.
