A burglar in a balaclava with eyes holes cut out of it crept into man's bedroom – as the victim watched TV.
The sneak thief jemmied his way into the house in Daintry Close, Papworth Everard, where average house prices are £403,550, and made his way to the bedroom.
But he was scared off after the victim, who is in his 60s, confronted the burglar.
A Cambridgeshire police spokeswoman said: "At about 7.50pm on Monday evening (February 5), a house in Daintry Close, Papworth Everard, was broken into.
"The offender jemmied the centre panel out of a door and entered the house, which was in darkness, but the occupant, a man in his 60s, was upstairs watching television.
"The offender entered the bedroom and was confronted by the victim, before fleeing the scene.
"The offender is described as between 6ft and 6ft 3in tall, wearing a black balaclava with the eyes cut out, and a black 'donkey' jacket.
"Nothing appears to have been taken during the burglary."
A dark grey hatchback or estate style vehicle was seen parked nearby.
