A body has been found in the search for a missing student who was last seen leaving a nightclub.
Rory Cattermole, 20, an Exeter University student, disappeared after a night out with friends from his course.
He was last seen in Fever Boutique nightclub in Exeter, Devon, at 2.40am on Tuesday.
Friends spotted the young man on Snapchat maps during the early hours of the morning, however he later vanished.
The disappearance was described as ‘extremely out of character’.
Police and The Dartmoor Search and Rescue Team located a body of a man on Thursday afternoon in Longdown, near Exeter.
In a statement Devon and Cornwall Police said: ‘Formal identification has yet to take place, however, the family of missing 20-year-old student Rory Cattermole has been informed of this development.’
Rory, a first year business with finance student who is originally from Cambridgeshire, was wearing a red and white check shirt over a white t-shirt with black trousers and black trainers when he went missing.
It is believed that he left the club and headed towards Exeter city centre.
The University of Exeter said: ‘Our thoughts are with his friends and family at this difficult time.’
