This shocking footage shows the deep tyre tracks left by a lorry which ploughed straight through the middle of a roundabout in Cambridgeshire this morning (February 19).

Police released the footage after the crash caused hours of delays for motorists.

The lorry careered straight through the middle of the roundabout on the A142 at around 4.30am.

The road between Sutton and Witcham Toll was closed in both directions until 8.55am between B1381 Ely Road and A1421 Haddenham Road.

The A142 was closed in Sutton due to HGV going over roundabout. (Picture: BCH Road Policing).

A large amount of mud and dirt was strewn over the road and the delays mounted as the vehicle needed to be recovered.

An ambulance was called to the scene to treat the driver for minor injuries.

No other vehicles are believed to have been involved.
