Thousands of runners will soon be hitting the streets of Cambridge for the city's seventh annual half marathon.

The city will see 9,000 people putting on running shoes in March, which means part of Cambridge will be shut for the race.

This year's Saucony Half Marathon is set to be the biggest yet.

Within the first two days, 7,000 places were filled and the event is now completely sold out.

When is the Cambridge half marathon?

Runners will set out on Saturday, March 4, at 9.30am.

The race will start at Midsummer Common.

Where will it be?

As always, the race will start and finish on Midsummer Common.

Runners will follow a 13.1 mile route around the city taking in all of Cambridge's most iconic sites.

From Midsummer Common the course heads out onto Victoria Avenue before heading through the centre of Cambridge; past the Round Church, Kings College, Fitzwilliam Museum and along The Backs.

There is also a new section to the race which sees the runners head out of the city along Trumpington Road through Grantchester and back into the city along the Barton Road.

There will be dozens of roads closed so plan ahead.

Are roads going to be shut?

With 9,000 people heading onto the streets at once it's inevitable there will be some closures.

Roads will be closed from 4am on March 4 and will last a full 12 hours until 4pm.
