An axe was found inside a car which crashed during a street race.

An axe was found inside a car which crashed during a street race.

Police were called at around 6.20pm to reports of a crash involving a Peugeot 307 in Goldhay Way, Peterborough, where the driver of the vehicle left the scene.

BCH Road Policing tweeted the incident on Sunday, April 29, with photographs of the incident.

The images show the written off vehicle, as well as the Rolson axe.

The tweet read: "This clown was reported racing with another car, the drivers ability was clearly poor, the driver ran away.

A Cambridgeshire Police spokeswoman said: "We were called at 6.20pm on Sunday (29 April) with reports of a collision involving a black Peugeot 307 on Goldhay Way, Peterborough.

"The driver of the vehicle left the scene. The vehicle was recovered by police."
