Cambridgeshire will get a second mini heatwave this May bank holiday with temperatures reaching up to 24C.

The balmy conditions are well deserved after the recent wintry temperatures, blustery winds and heavy showers.

Before we can enjoy the warm air, we'll have to handle another bout of wet weather.

Today (May 1) we enjoyed a respite from the rain, but scattered showers will return to the county tomorrow (May 2).

The sunshine will return Thursday while temperatures start their slow climb to culminate at 24C on bank holiday Monday.

A spokesperson for The Weather Channel said: “There will be a drier and brighter start on Tuesday before rain moves in from the west, spreading eastwards into Wednesday.

“A mix of sunshine and showers will end the week on Thursday and Friday, with temperatures increasing to near normal to slightly above by Friday.

“This will lead to a pleasant bank holiday weekend as temperatures lift into the low to mid 20s C.”
