Fears over a woman taking photos of young girls as a group of men lurked nearby have sparked an alert.

Cambridgeshire police have been called after the suspicious activity at a park in Trumpington near the Trumpington Park Primary School in Hobson Avenue.

Worried parents posted their concerns on social media following an incident on May 3.

Families living in the area were warned about the incident as parents went door-to-door.

It has been reported that two young girls were playing at the park by the school and were approached by a lone woman who asked to take pictures of them.

The girls allowed this and the woman then began to question them on their school and home address, it has been reported.

It was also reported that a group of about five to six men were spotted nearby. It is not known if they were connected with the woman.

A Cambridgeshire police spokeswoman said: "We received a call from a parent following concerns that a woman was acting suspiciously at a park in Trumpington on May 3.

"The parent was given safeguarding advice. To report suspicious behaviour call 101 or 999 in an emergency."
