Updates: Murder investigation after woman dies in Cambridgeshire village

A murder investigation has been launched following the death of a woman in Cambridgeshire yesterday (December 5).

The woman, who was taken to hospital following an incident at a property in Cambourne yesterday, has died in hospital.

A 43-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder and remains in custody at Parkside Police Station.

Police were called by the ambulance service to Lamb Drove with reports of concern at 1.35am.

The 55-year-old woman was taken to Addenbrookes Hospital in a critical condition but died yesterday afternoon after her condition deteriorated.

The apprehended man from Cambourne, was first arrested on suspicion of attempted murder, but has now been rearrested on suspicion of murder.

Investigations continue at the scene and officers are keeping the family of the victim up-to-date.

A post mortem examination is due to take place tomorrow.
