Households across the UK have seen their energy bills skyrocket as Britons spend more time at home. The latest lockdown has seen energy usage continue to climb with gas and electricity prices set to rise this year. The UK has an energy price cap in place which limits how much energy suppliers can charge Britons per unit of energy if they are on the supplier’s default tariff or standard variable tariff (SVT).
