Covid infection rates have dropped below 100 in two parts of Cambridgeshire for the first time in months.
Infection rates – the number of new weekly cases per 100,000 people – have fallen in all areas of the county since last week.
But Cambridge and South Cambridgeshire have now reached an encouraging milestone as infection rates dropped below 100 in both areas.
In Cambridge, the rate of 77.7 means it’s the first time in 62 days that the infection rate has not been above 100.
South Cambridgeshire, which includes Cambourne and Milton, has also waited more than two months to arrive at its new infection rate of 94.9.
Covid rates have almost halved in these two areas since last week – dropping by more than 40 per cent in each.
