Prince Philip‘s funeral took place at St George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle yesterday. Due to Covid restrictions, only 30 guests were able to attend.
The guest list was made up of Prince Philip’s children and grandchildren.
Among the guests were Prince William and his wife Kate Middleton.
The Duke of Sussex was also in attendance after arriving in the UK from his Los Angeles home last week.
Prince Harry and his brother walked as part of the procession and were separated by cousin Peter Phillips when they walked in.
As they entered, the royal brothers looked sombre and a body language expert commented on their interactions.
Body language expert Judi James suggested the royals did not communicate much before they went into the chapel.
However, this seemed different after the funeral ended and they were seen leaving.
She told Express.co.uk: “Harry had seemed to be suffering before the service, rolling his shoulders in what looked like a gesture of self-boosting as though bracing himself as he walked in and then sitting alone in the pews.
“Harry and William had shown no sign of contact before the service but as they walked out we could see Harry finally eye-checking his brother.”
Prince Harry and Prince William have not seen each other in over a year.
This was caused by Prince Harry’s move to Los Angeles and the coronavirus pandemic causing travel restrictions.
While they may not have seen each other for many months, Judi claimed their body language showed a “natural closeness” after the ceremony.
Prince Harry appeared to run up to his brother and sister-in-law Kate as they walked outside.
“William and Kate walked off ahead,” the body language expert explained.
“But Harry caught up with them and then walked between them in what looked like quite a natural display of closeness.”
The expert continued to say Prince Harry caught up with the Cambridges and they looked happy to see him.
While Kate looked pleased to see her brother-in-law, she stepped back and the two brothers walked together.
Judi added she may have done this to allow Prince Harry and Prince William to catch up.
She concluded: Kate turned her head in to pay fond-looking attention but then tactfully stepped back to allow the two warring brothers to walk off talking to one another.”
The line of succession to the British throne dictates the order in which each member of the Royal Family would ascend to the throne.
It is also seen as a ranking of importance with the head of the line, the Queen, taking the place of ruler.
Older children come before younger children. Traditionally boys came before girls, but this law was changed on 26 March 2015 before the birth of Prince William’s first child.
Incredibly, Catholics are still excluded from the line of succession, as are children born outside of wedlock.
The royals, who usually stick to a strict protocol when appearing in public, often arrive at events in ascending order of importance, with the most important royal arriving last.
Prince Charles, 72, is currently first-in-line to the British throne, followed by Prince William, 38, his oldest son.
Then comes Prince William’s children, George, seven, Charlotte, five, and Louis, two, and they are followed by Prince Harry, 36. Prince Harry is succeeded by his son Archie Harrison, born in May 2019.
