Man ‘stabbed’ and boom box stolen after violence in central Cambridge

A man was rushed to hospital with injuries consistent with a stab wound after reports of violence in central Cambridge.

Officers were called to Cutter Ferry Lane in Cambridge, near to Midsummer Common, with reports of violence at 6.15pm on Monday evening, July 26.

On arrival at the scene, they discovered that a man in his 20s had suffered injuries consistent with a stab wound.

He also had a boom box stolen from him in the attack.

The man was taken to hospital, though isn’t thought to have suffered serious injuries.

Pictures from the scene show officers at Midsummer Common, with a large area cordoned off by police tape.

Cambridgeshire Police have stated that officers are treating the incident as isolated.

The full statement reads: “We were called at 6.15pm yesterday (July 26) to Cutter Ferry Lane in Cambridge with reports of violence.

“On arrival at the scene officers discovered a man in his 20s had suffered injuries consistent with a stab wound. He had also had a boom box stolen from him in the attack.

“The man was taken to hospital, though isn’t thought to have suffered serious injuries. Officers are treating the incident as isolated.
