Things with our weather here in Cambridgeshire have been crazy over the last few months.

We’ve had blistering heat for weeks before massive thunderstorms swept in with heavy rain ruining everything.

Recently things have been warm again but it seems more thunderstorms are on their way very, very soon.

BBC Weather is forecasting thundery conditions this weekend, with most of the county set to see them.

It’ll be muggy however with temperatures sitting around 20C while the thunder and lightning hits.

It’s then likely the thunderstorms will return next week with even hotter temperatures around 22C.

On Friday (August 6), the Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning of thunderstorms close to north Cambridgeshire with areas like Peterborough feeling the effects.

This weather warning covers the Midlands and northern parts of the UK.

Saturday (August 7) however is when the majority of Cambridgeshire will see the thunderstorms.

Here are the times when thunderstorms are predicted across Cambs this week:

Cambridge

Thunderstorms are due Saturday at 6pm until around 7pm across Cambridge.

The day will start off grey before rain showers set in from 2pm followed by the storms.

Temperatures will peak at 19C with lows of 12C.

Ely

Thunderstorms will hit Ely on Saturday at 5pm and will last until 7pm.

Prior to this, the day will start off with some sunshine before light rain sets in from 1pm.

The high will be 19C with the low being 12C. There will also be a moderate breeze.

Huntingdon

Hungtindon will see thunderstorms from 5pm on Saturday until around 7pm.

Generally Saturday will be sunny mixed with rain before those storms set in in the evening.

Temperates will be around 20C in the day and there will be a moderate breeze.

Peterborough

Peterborough may feel the effects of some thunderstorms from the East Midlands on Friday, however it will be Saturday when it is more likely to be hit.

Saturday will start off with some sunshine mixed with rain before the storms hit at 5pm. They will last until around 8pm.

Temperatures will peak at 20C and there will be lows of 12C.

St Neots

At the moment St Neots is not forecasted to see any thunderstorms at all this weekend coming.

It will however see light rain showers mixed with some sunshine.

The high will be 20C with lows being around 12C.

Wisbech

Wisbech will also not see any thunderstorms across the weekend according BBC Weather

Instead there will be light rain showers mixed with sunshine.

Temperatures will peak at around 20C while the evenings and mornings will be around 11C.
