A stolen van from West Yorkshire was last night (November 10) recovered on the A1 near Stibbington and its driver arrested.
Leicestershire Roads Policing Unit (RPU), Lincolnshire Police and the Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire (BCH) RPU all played their part in the action, and officers later tweeted their congratulations at the success of the operation.
Leicestershire RPU said: “Intel sharing at its best. Stung, stopped, driver arrested. Stolen van recovered. Thanks to Cambs and Lincs assistance in getting it stopped.”
BCH RPU added: “Stolen vehicle from West Yorkshire was located with the assistance of Leicestershire Police RPU and Lincolnshire Police on the A1 near to Stibbington.
“After a stinger was deployed the vehicle was stopped and the driver is under arrest.”
